Join The WWF Adventure Challenge

The WWF has launched a partnership with Inspired Adventures that will offer two wonderful adventures in China and Borneo where you will get the chance to see some magnificent wildlife and also be able to help protect it.

Pedal for Pandas in China, 1-12 June 2014. Highlights include:

  • Spend three days behind the scenes volunteering at panda sanctuaries. You will learn first-hand whether their fur is soft or tough and get the chance to know them individually.
  •  Hop on a bike and pedal for four days against a backdrop of  the exquisite scenery of rural China’s Sichuan province.
  •  Visit historic sites such as the World Heritage-listed Giant Buddha, and explore Ya’an – where the first panda was discovered.

Trek for Orang-utans in Borneo, 5-15 September 2014. Highlights include:

  • Head deep into the rainforest and look for the elusive orangutan.  You will be joining local volunteers who will teach you how to monitor the habitats of these wonderful creatures at the Bukit Peninjau Wildlife Research Station.
  •  Experience what it’s like to live in the jungle and to sleep under the stars waking up to jungle sounds each morning. You will meet some rare plants and animals that make their home in this amazing rainforest and get to spend time with some local communities who will teach you survival skills.

Both of these trips offer a no holds barred journey into two of the most beautiful and wildest places on earth and give you the chance to experience first hand some remarkable species and their habitat that the WWF is working hard to conserve.

There are fewer than 1,600 giant pandas left in the wild and less than 63,000 orangutans and both species face the threat of their habitat being destroyed.

If you sign up for one of these once in a lifetime journey’s you will commit to raising $3,000 for the WWF Australia which will go towards ensuring that Borneo remains a sanctuary for all the animals and species that call it home as well as helping China secure the legacy of the giant panda. The WWF will provide fund raising support.
